How injectable pricing works
Why injectable treatments are not priced from a menu, and what determines the cost.
Per unit, per syringe
Neurotoxin is generally priced per unit. How many units are needed depends on the area being treated and how strong that muscle is — and muscle strength varies a great deal between people. Two people asking for the same treatment can need quite different amounts.
Filler is generally priced per syringe, and half a syringe is a common choice for a first lip treatment.

The variables
- Area treated. A small area such as bunny lines needs a fraction of the product a full forehead does.
- Muscle strength. Stronger muscles need more units.
- Starting or maintaining. Maintenance visits often need less product than a first treatment.
- Filler volume. Half a syringe is a legitimate and common choice.
- Combination treatments. Sometimes better staged across visits.
On very cheap injectables
Unusually low per-unit pricing is worth a question rather than automatic suspicion. Ask what product is being used, whether it is FDA-approved, who is injecting, and whether the price is per unit or per area. Those four answers explain most of the price differences in this market.
