When your lip lifts a little too high
A “gummy smile” usually comes from an upper lip muscle that’s extra strong. When you smile, it pulls the lip up past your teeth and shows more gum than you’d like.
A small, precise dose of neuromodulator (the same family as Botox® and Xeomin®) softens that pull. Your lip rests a little lower when you smile, so more teeth and less gum show. It still looks like your smile, just more balanced.
