Botox in North Richland Hills, Texas
Botulinum toxin type A, placed conservatively into the specific muscle causing the line — so you look rested rather than expressionless.
Dynamic lines versus static lines
This single distinction explains most disappointment with Botox, so it is worth getting straight before you book.
Dynamic lines appear when you move — when you raise your brows, frown or smile. They are caused by muscle contraction, and neurotoxin treats them well.
Static lines are visible when your face is completely still. They are etched into the skin over years. Neurotoxin softens them somewhat, over repeated treatments, but it does not erase them — and anyone promising otherwise is overselling.
Which of the two you have is assessed in person — and it is worth knowing before you book what neurotoxin can realistically change.

Common and temporary: small bruises, mild headache for a day or two, tenderness at the injection points.
Less common: a heavy or asymmetric brow, or a drooping eyelid, usually from product spreading beyond the intended muscle. These resolve as the effect wears off, but they can take weeks — which is the strongest practical argument for conservative dosing.
Rare but serious: botulinum toxin carries an FDA boxed warning about effects spreading beyond the injection site. Seek medical attention for swallowing or breathing difficulty, double vision, or muscle weakness spreading away from the treated area.
Not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or with neuromuscular conditions such as myasthenia gravis. Tell us about every medication and supplement you take.
Botox questions, answered plainly
How much does Botox cost?
Neurotoxin is generally priced per unit, and the number of units depends on the area treated and how strong the muscle is. Because that varies from person to person, we give you a price at your free consultation rather than publishing a figure that would not apply to everyone.
How many units will I need?
It varies by area and by person — muscle strength differs a great deal between individuals, which is why it is assessed in person rather than estimated from a photograph.
At what point does Botox look best?
Around 10–14 days. Before that you are looking at a partial result.
What is the riskiest area to inject?
The glabella — the frown line area between the brows — sits near vessels supplying the eye, and injection technique there matters more than anywhere else on the upper face. It is a reason to care who is holding the needle, not a reason to avoid the treatment.
What are the alternatives to Botox?
Botox is one brand of botulinum toxin type A. Dysport, Xeomin, Jeuveau and Daxxify are others, with slightly different onset and duration.
What is forbidden after Botox?
For 24 hours: no rubbing or massaging the area, no strenuous exercise, no saunas or hot yoga, and stay upright for the first four hours or so. For two weeks: no facials, microneedling or laser over the treated area.
Why do people stop having Botox?
Usually cost, or a result they did not like — most often from too much product rather than too little. Occasionally because their goals changed. Conservative dosing addresses the second reason.
Should I drink water before Botox?
Being normally hydrated is sensible but it will not change your result. Avoiding alcohol for 24 hours beforehand, and blood-thinning supplements such as fish oil and high-dose vitamin E for several days, does measurably reduce bruising.
